The Old Church Slavonic Institute Declared Holder of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Croatian Glagolitism
During the session of the National Council for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development on 10th November 2014 at the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, the Minister of Science, Education and Sports, Prof. Vedran Mornar, PhD declared the Old Church Slavonic Institute the Holder of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Croatian Glagolitism as one of the seven Scientific Centres of Excellence in the Republic of Croatia and one of the two centres in the area of humanities. The Centre will carry out interdisciplinary studies in the fields of philology, computer science, palaeography, theology, art history and history. The Centre for Croatian Glagolitism strives to establish and to develop an interdisciplinary theoretical framework and a model for studying Glagolitic scribes’ centres (scriptoria).
The Head of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Croatian Glagolitism is a research adviser in the Old Church Slavonic Institute Milan Mihaljević, PhD, an associate member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
