On 7th May 2015 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Head of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Croatian Glagolitism Milan Mihaljević, PhD, an associate member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, received the “Adolfo Veber Tkalčević” Award for his contribution to Croatian linguistics in the area of syntax of the Church Slavonic and Croatian language. more

Cooperation Agreement signed
The Cooperation Agreement Concerning the Implementation of the Activities of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Croatian Glagolitism – between the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, the Old Church Slavonic Institute and the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Croatian Glagolitism was signed on 18th March 2015. more
The Old Church Slavonic Institute Declared Holder of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Croatian Glagolitism
During the session of the National Council for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development on 10th November 2014 at the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, the Minister of Science, Education and Sports, Prof. Vedran Mornar, PhD declared the Old Church Slavonic Institute the Holder of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Croatian Glagolitism as one of the seven Scientific Centres of Excellence in the Republic of Croatia and one of the two centres in the area of humanities. more
The Scientific Centre of Excellence for Croatian Glagolitism
The aim of the project is to develop an interdisciplinary theoretical framework for the study of Glagolitic scriptoria. As the subject of the research, the manuscripts from Beram (near Pazin) have been chosen, since there are strong indications that there was a Glagolitic scriptorium there in the 14th and the 15th centuries. more
